That leaves us Tails and Amy from Sonic Adventure. I wouldn't certainly base the gameplay around Big. While I prefer Knuckles gameplay over Tails/Eggman, it's the only type that isn't justified by a returning character who shares the same gameplay, since Rouge was a completely new character, and Knuckles was the sole contender for the role of Treasure Hunter in Sonic Adventure. Seriously, if not basing SA2's gameplay on Gamma and Knuckles', then who else from Sonic Adventure? By recycling programs from the previous game and introducing Eggman at the same time as a playable character, the mech shooting would be the obvious choice, hence why Tails was put on a mech too for the Hero/Dark split. Debug/Cheat mode - level select for all 3 characters their super forms: super Sonic, super Tails and hyper Knuckles (with their own ending sequences)Ībout the multiple characters complaint, specially concerning Sonic Adventure 2: customizable shields from Sonic 1, 2 and 3 controls are great, even better then Sonic CD for iOS. I've been telling people all the time like a broken record already. It's the best version of Sonic 1 ever tbh. Other than that, hey it looks awesome so far. That's why I dislike that part in Wreck-it Ralph (but it fit well with Katy Perry). I dunno why candy world is just cringeworthy for me, too kiddie-girly. I just love this game and have it on my phone and iPad. Sonic & Tails mode, and Tails can carry Sonic like in S3&Knux Debug/Cheat mode - level select and super Sonic, Tails and Knuckles (with their own ending sequences) Added spin dash! Let's face it, Sonic 1 is kinda dull without it before this.
I played the tv version and it does look harsh and bland. Color is much more vivid and pleasing to the eyes. Improved framerate, it's the smoothest version ever at 60fps. Why iOS version is better (aka the BEST™ one yet)?
And I'm not biased at all I have Sonic 1 on PS3 version, Sonic Mega Collection Plus+ version and also the PS2 version (the name escapes me now). Colours did really well with balancing the speed and platforming and hopefully the new title looks to continue this.
I've always felt it takes away from the game, like you're just holding a button and everything happens for you.
Plus, the levels which rely on you boosting get awfully linear (don't believe me, then just pop in Unleashed! )), and completely destroys what Sonic is about, and that is exploration and platforming!Īgain, really glad they are removing the feature. Of course, there was spindash, but this feature was limited in a sense that the character gets harder to control.īoosting, on the other hand, you can get easily, is also easier to control, and overall makes the game too easy. In the classic games and Adventure/Heroes/Shadow/06, you would gradually get speed as some sort of a "reward" for doing a good run at that moment. Boosting is the cancer of Sonic games, if you ask me.
